Health warning
Photosensitive epilepsy
A small share of people may have seizures when exposed to certain patterns or flashing lights, including in video games. This can happen even to people who have never had a seizure or been diagnosed with epilepsy.
Symptoms may include dizziness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking of the arms or legs, disorientation, confusion or momentary loss of awareness.
Stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents and guardians should watch children while they play: they are more prone to these seizures.
If you or anyone in your family has a history of epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.
To reduce the risk
- Play in a well-lit room and sit at a comfortable distance from the screen.
- Don't play when tired or drowsy.
- Take a 10 to 15 minute break every hour of play.
Comfort
Long sessions can strain your eyes, hands, wrists and back. If you feel pain or discomfort, stop and rest. If it persists, see a doctor.
What's in the game
[TO CONFIRM WHEN THE GAME IS DONE] Age of Medieval uses no full-screen flashing lights. Impact effects in battle are short and localised. [If there's an option to reduce effects, mention it here.]
