The release date of Age of Medieval has been on the store page since the day it opened: Monday, 17 May 2027. Here is why that day.
A date is chosen by looking at what else happens on Steam around it. The week before, 10 to 17 May, Steam runs its Real-Time Strategy Fest, when players of this exact kind of game are browsing. Releasing at the end of that week puts the game in front of the right people.
A Monday also leaves the whole working week after launch to answer players and ship fixes, instead of a weekend with a small team asleep.
