A caravan in Age of Medieval cannot leave without a road. That one rule shapes the whole trade game.
You build roads on the campaign map in two clicks: one on your village, one on the neighbour. Before the second click the preview shows the stretches, the coins and the days. Then the road appears dashed, as a work in progress, until it is done.
If you try to open a route between two places with no road between them, the trade screen says so and tells you to build one. If a road exists but goes the long way round, your caravan goes the long way round.
The other Houses build roads by the same rule and pay for them from their own coffers. A fort on a road charges toll on what passes. Where the roads go is where the money goes.
Age of Medieval is developed by UnderStudio in UnderStudio 2D and published by Brasa Interactive. It releases on 17 May 2027.
