Three peoples: timber, dark stone, adobe
Valan, Corvus and Murth build, dress and fight their own way
The first choice in a new game is your people. There are three.
The Valan build in timber. The Corvus build in dark stone. The Murth build in adobe. Each has its own houses, walls and gates, its own dress and its own soldiers, so you can tell whose village you are riding into before you read its name.
The difference is not only paint. The peoples live on different land, and each land has a good of its own that the others want. Trade between them is where the long routes pay.
Whichever you pick, the other two are on the map as Houses with lords, heirs and plans of their own.
