One clip, explained: a day in the village
What each person in these few seconds is doing
The clip below runs for a few seconds, and nothing in it is decoration. Here is how to read it.
The people on the street are not walking in loops. Each one is a named villager with a trade, on the way to a pile, a field or a building site. If someone carries a load, a site or a house somewhere is waiting for it.
The smoke is information. A chimney that smokes in winter is a house with firewood. A cold chimney is the first sign of the problem that empties villages.
The half-built frame is a building site: the material arrives piece by piece, and the house rises as it does. Click any person in a scene like this and their sheet opens: name, family, trade, and what they are holding. The rest of the game is built on that sheet.
