What a living siege cost in art
Four engines in eight directions, 66 wall pieces in three states
When the design says "the wall can be breached and repaired", the art team hears a number. Here is ours.
Walls: 66 pieces, each in three states, whole, damaged and breached. Engines: four of them, each rendered in eight directions so they can turn on the field. Buildings: 99 razed versions, for what a sack leaves behind.
Then the people. A village under siege is not empty, so there is a villager who cowers, a militiaman who used to be a farmer, and a roof on fire that the bucket line is trying to reach.
All of it comes from the same Blender kit as the peaceful village, which is the only reason a studio our size could do it at all. Some pieces are still on the list: a catapult, and the villager carrying the bucket.
