Age of Medieval is a simulation with a lot of moving parts: villagers, prices, roads, lords, sieges. Change one and something far away breaks. Our answer is a rule: nothing from the past is allowed to break.
Every new feature and every fix gets its own probe, a small script that plays that piece of the game and counts failures. Today there are 243 of them. Before a build is called done the whole battery runs, which takes more than an hour.
A reported bug becomes a test first: it has to fail on the old code and pass on the fix. Then it stays in the battery for good.
This does not make the game free of bugs. It means the ones we fixed stay fixed, which for a studio our size is the only way to keep moving forward.
Age of Medieval is developed by UnderStudio in UnderStudio 2D and published by Brasa Interactive. It releases on 17 May 2027.
