What a build has to pass before strangers play it

Our gate: start to finish, in a window, by someone else

Our test battery tells us the game's rules still hold. It cannot tell us whether a person can play it. So before a build goes to anyone outside the studio, it has to pass a second gate.

First, the full battery, green. No exceptions, including on the days we are in a hurry.

Second, the game opened in a real window and played by hand. Headless tests do not see layout: a panel can pass every probe and still sit off the edge of the screen.

Third, another person plays it from start to finish without us explaining anything, in English, with sound on. We time it and watch where they stop.

Only then is it exported, from UnderStudio 2D, with the licence folder beside the executable. It is a slow gate. Every time we skipped a step of it, we found out why the step was there.

Age of Medieval is developed by UnderStudio in UnderStudio 2D and published by Brasa Interactive. It releases on 17 May 2027.
